William “Greg” Odum is a PhD student in Anthropology at Columbia University. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology from Georgia State University where he conducted ethnographic research on policing perspectives and community relations in the Atlanta area. His current dissertation research focuses on governance, criminality, and transnational police training and reform in Guatemala. Since 2020, he has worked as a core member of the Buscadoras Research Unit at Columbia University. He is also a proud member of the Solidarity Brigade NYC, a mutual aid group in New York City that collaborates with the National Search Brigade in Mexico to develop transnational support networks for the families and solidarity groups searching for the disappeared in Mexico.
