Sarah Ita Levitan is a postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Department of Computer Science at Columbia University. Her research interests are in spoken language processing and natural language processing and she has worked on projects such as detecting deceptive speech, trustworthy speech, detecting speaker traits such as gender, native language, and personality, and identifying linguistic indicators to trusted and mistrusted news. Sarah Ita was a Knight News Innovation Fellow (2018) and a recipient of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (2013) and the NSF IGERT From Data to Solutions fellowship (2013).
