Alfonso Grimaldo is co-founder and chief of operations of Nueva Nación, Panama’s first digital data-driven newspaper, as well as co-creator of El Tabulario, Panama’s first digital public data repository. In this capacity, he has organised and led multiple training workshops on data analysis and digital tools for journalists. Additionally, he is co-creator of La Previa, a popular news analysis radio show, broadcast on TVN (2017-2021) and regularly hosts TVN’s morning news discussion program, Mesa de Periodistas. He also co-created Bien Conta’o, a 10 episode podcast on the history of Panama. Alfonso has a Licentiate Degree in Law and Political Sciences from the Universidad Santa María La Antigua, in Panama, as well as a Master’s degree in Management Science and Operational Research from University College London (UCL) in the United Kingdom.
