Michael Krisch joined the Brown Institute as its Deputy Director in December of 2013, coming from the web strategy team at Columbia Law School. At the Institute, Michael designs and implements educational programming, including design thinking workshops and tech-based trainings, as well as hack events on how we contextualize and illustrate the impacts of climate change. He also supports private and public partnerships with media and technology companies in New York City, and assists in the creation of new and innovative programs that foster speculation, research and building around how stories are found and told. Outside of Brown, Michael is the founder of Communal Craft, an furniture and lighting design studio based in New York City that focuses on salvaged and recycled materials.

Established in 2012, the Institute is a collaboration between Columbia and Stanford Universities. Our mission is simple: Sponsor thinking, building and speculating on how stories are discovered and told in a networked, digitized world.
