Daniel Drepper

Daniel Drepper is part of the "Earnings Inspector" Magic Grant. He is also co-founder of and senior reporter at CORRECT!V, the first non-profit investigative newsroom in Germany, based in Berlin.


Until May 2014, Daniel was a Fellow at the Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism and a Scholar at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at Columbia University in New York City. Between 2010 and 2013, Daniel worked in the research department of Funke-Mediengruppe, one of the biggest publishing houses in Europe, where he won the investigative “Wächterpreis” award and was named journalist of the year in the Newcomer category.


Daniel has worked as a freelance journalist for public radio and TV in Germany,  Spiegel-Online, Zeit-Online and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, among others. He also launched the research platform, which brought him a nomination for the Grimme-Online-Award. Daniel has a degree in journalism and wrote his thesis about the German Freedom of Information Act.
